Story hour
is a way of acquainting preschool children with books and reading.
Stories selected by the children's librarian include a variety of literature written for children along with songs, films, and craft activities. Story hour is for preschool children ages 3 to 5 years old. Pre-registration is required for Story hour sessions.

Story hour is held in the meeting room of the Douglas County Library. The children's library phone number is 320-762-3013.

Before Story hour...

• Talk with your children about your visit to the library & storytime.
• Plan to arrive a few minutes early.
• Please take your child to the restroom.

After Story hour....
• Take time to choose books with your child.
• Ask the Librarian for reading suggestions.
• Make a special time for reading.
• Repeat storytime songs & rhymes at home.


The Summer Reading Program
is a fun way to include reading and related activities into family fun time.

It help chidren maintain and improve reading skillls.
